Information Technology Services (ITS) is one department in the Office of Financial Affairs division and, though all departments claim this, an essential component of campus life. The department consists of 9 full-time staff members, each with varying specialties, to support the College's needs. Together, the team works to provide the strategic direction and daily support for a wide variety of technology-based systems, including:
- Over 750 College-owned PCs and associated software packages (including Windows, Office 2003, Contribute, Acrobat and many others)
- 3 major computer labs, several academic department labs and labs in each resident hall for a total of over 200 student-accessible PCs
- A campus-wide network that connects all buildings
- Improved High-speed Internet connection (6x faster than what we had for Fall 2005))
- Access to e-mail from anywhere by using Microsoft Outlook or Web-based client
- Network storage and Web space for each student, faculty and staff member
- "ResNet" Internet connectivity for all resident hall occupants
- Academic and administrative systems like Blackboard, Colleague & Raiser's Edge
- Campus-wide phone service including a port per residence hall room and access to inexpensive long-distance plans
- Our very own 64-channel cable TV system
