Volume Shadow Copy

With the College's new backup system, known as Data Protection Manager or DPM, you can restore incorrectly changed or deleted files yourself, without seeking help from the ITS department.

Restoring Files That Have Been Overwritten

Navigate to the file in question using Windows Explorer, right-click on the file that you want to restore to a previous state, choose "Restore previous versions" from the context menu, find the version you want to restore, and press the Restore button.

Restoring Files/Folders That Have Been Deleted

Navigate to the folder that contained the deleted file/folder, right-click on the folder and choose "Restore previous versions". Find the version that you want to restore and cut and paste it where it belongs.

It's really that easy!
