Channel Line-Up
You get all the must-see channels, like MTV and VH-1, Comedy Central, Lifetime, ESPN and the other sports channels, all the cable news channels, and many more. Also, you get MC's internal cable channels which have lots of course-related content, brought right into your own room!
What you need:
• A cable-ready TV & manuals.
• An RG6 quad shield coaxial cable w/ “F”
connectors at both ends.

RG6 Coaxial Cable
If you have a VCR or DVD player, you will need:
• An RG6 quad shield coaxial cable.
• VCR manual/DVD player manual
• You need a 1000 MHz splitter only if you want to watch one station and record another at the same time. The setup varies with model of VCR. Consult your manuals.
Cable facts
• SpartanCable TV is only available to on-campus students.
• All Manchester students, regardless of where they live on campus, get the same cable TV stations.
• There is a cable connection at each resident room and in common areas of most residence hall rooms.
• Because SpartanCable’s system is not scrambled, there is no need for a converter box.
• There is no additional monthly bill for cable service.
Troubleshooting
All Snow or No Picture
- Verify fittings from wall plate to TV set are connected
- Check VCR and TV set are plugged into AC outlet
- Bypass VCR, go directly to TV w/input cable
- Verify that TV has been programmed
Snowy Picture
- Verify fittings from wall plate to TV are finger tight
- Verify that VCR is not unplugged
- Verify TV/VCR are on proper channels
Black Screen With or Without Sound
- Check if video AUX Switch is improperly set
- Check if video game is left on
- Check off air (local channels) to see if any pix
Rolling Bands
- Check other channels affected
- Check vertical or horizontal hold (older sets only)
Interfering Lines
- Check for loose fittings from wall plate to TV set
- Check other channels affected
- Bypass VCR, go directly to TV w/input cable
